甚良緣，把青春拋的遠。
俺的睡情誰見，
則索要因循靦腆，
想幽夢誰邊，和春光暗流轉。
遷延，這衷懷哪處言。
淹煎，潑殘生除問天。
(Narrate) Preparing to tour the garden's vernal splendours, I applied only the faintest touch of rouge. Oh spring! Spring! You and I linger, but spring, once gone, can never be recovered. A spring day like this – how sleepy it makes a person.
(Sing) How can my troubled heart bear the melancholy spring?
All at once, my bosom is filled with gloom and bleak complaint.
The time is nigh for me to wed, and a beauty such as I might grace any noble house.
But while I wait for a match,
my own youth is passing away from me.

My lot is to carry on dreaming, shyly,
of someone with whom to wander in the dimming light of spring.
